Political Pandering (first new one in a while)
Political Pandering
Spare a dollar, spare a dime
Come sit down and waste your time
Listen to the mastery
Of lying faces, politically
We'll do this, we'll do that
Come on up and fill the hat
We'll say one thing and do another
Hopes and dreams we're bound to smother
Spare a dollar, spare a twenty
Put it in, we'll spend plenty
We don't bother to even try
Pay no attention to our lie.
To the polls, cast your vote
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Don't look at records, don't make a note
Just listen to the lies we spew
Then believe in something new
Spare a dollar, spare a dime
Come on down and waste your time
Forget the problems that you face
Help me win this sordid race
Spare an inch, we'll take a mile
Mezmorize you with our style
Looking oh so debonaire
And leave you grasping empty air

About Me
Married for 37 years now to a wonderful woman. I love to read and write. I have one Published Novel, Dangerous Fare, and am working on 2 more at this time.
I have an extensive library of Science Fiction, Fiction, Fantasy and humor. I also have many gardening, home improvement, computer, auto and motorcycle books. I am a history buff and like to do a bit of woodworking. I build my own computers because I prefer to know what the quality of the components goes into them and prefer to be able to repair them with off the shelf parts. I am a decent country cook and love to grill and barbecue. I also love gardening and working around the yard.
I have worn many hats over the years, but the longest job I held was in the Chemical industry for 31.5 years before retirement. I love people and poetry.
I am a conservative with libertarian leanings, believe in freedom, small government, personal responsibility and helping those in need. A hand up not a handout is what people need. I hate what socialism and communism does to people and believe the less government interference in lives, the better. There, you have it. That is a capsule view of me. I am who I am and I'm happy with it.
