Song for Mama

Song For Mama

She stood at the funeral
Just a girl in the choir
But as she stepped forward
And raised her voice in song.
Everyone sat in awe
At a voice so clear and pure
That even the angels of heaven
Sat enthralled at her feet
And not one dry eye was there
When her song had died away

She sang her song for mama
Who had passed away
For mama had never heard her sing
For she was deaf from birth
But she knew in the great beyond
Mama could hear her song
So she put all the love she had
Into each and every note
And even the heaven's cried
at the beauty of Mama's Song

I was in a small down mood and wrote this, was wrapped up in writing and didn't really pay attention to it, if that makes any sense. Then I read it and got choked up myself. Sheesh, and me a grown man. *L* Respectfully, Rett: "If life is a bowl of cherries, why am I in the pits?" Erma Bombeck

Thank you for the tears,

once again. I last my mom last year as you know. I talk to her and will always believe she still hears me. I miss her much. :( Her favorite song was sang as we said good bye. In the last few days I have read some of your other pieces. They touched me in deep ways. I was not able to respond to them. Some painful things left in the mire. I have faced them all but will not revisit. As always wonderful to read your pieces. Dana
