Fire dance
I hear the creaking of the stairs,
the pitter-patter of my heart,
her breath that hisses at my door;
nimbly she slinks into the room.
Dancing across the polished wood;
she leaps and swirls like Fred Astair.
Her fingers glide across the desk
and gather curtains to her face,
for but a moment there she rests.
Performs a perfect grand jeté
she lands with warm feet on my chest
and licks my tired old bones dry.

"Grieta, I really like this poem and think that you've aptly described Anticipation and the pain of having to wait for something great. There are a few spelling issues: stanza 1/L1 willfully and Stanza 4/L3 your I would…" -

"He sits on the bench in the park. The sun is touching him with warm fingers. He puts his head back, and presents his face to her hands. He breathes in slowly and deeply. The air tastes different then usual. Somehow it seems thick and sweet." -

"GENERIC LOVE" by @Bonitaj
"This is skillfully done. This topic can so easily turn bitter or neurotic. You managed to capture a childlike quality in these words...but still held the helplessness right there in front of me... Superbly done." -
