These are the things I miss about you

Your fingers gently picking the tears from my face.
Your voice calling me back from outer space.
I miss the substance of your shadow on the wall
and the touch of your hand when we pass in the hall.
I miss how your breathing whispered to me
that I'm not alone when it's too dark too see.
I remember the touch of your knee on my thigh
and the warmth of you breath in my neck when I sigh.
I long for the mess of your clothes on the floor
and your complaints on my shoes, left at the door.
I miss the weight of your arm in the night
and the tangy taste of your mouth at first light.
I miss the scratch of your day-old beard
and the comfort of your arms whenever I feared.
I wish to feel your eyes finding me across any room
and yo see your smile that could lift me from mt gloom.

Things I miss

I miss how your breathing whispered to me that I’m not alone when it’s too dark too see. So beautiful! I cried because I too miss the breathing of another. Barry

This poem was written in the dark of the night, a month or two ago. It was accompanied with many tears. In the morning, it hurt to read over the words again. I have seen some healing since then. You will too.
