Between Me and You

It was the air that surrounded us
Leaving the memorable smell of forgotten dreams
But the voices that call us,
Are the promises of all the liars in our lives
But here you can be anything
Anything that scares you

It was the brown leaves and dying grass
That reminded me of old loves past
Remembering that not everyone is perfect in any way
But we all die and wither away
But here you can say anything
Anything that you really mean

Mankind the Accused

and with a rhyme or two
you don’t need to guess
or scrape from the floor
your neighbours flesh

we are the accused
we are the guilty

what have we done

I'll Be Sure

Oh, mother, please!

You do create in

Me profound unease

For I’m all grown now

And a great big cheese.

Do not speak to me

Around my friends,

The ones with knobby knees,

In pidgin Portuguese

Or motherese.

And I’ll then not talk

In computerese

Or of Socrates,

And I’ll be sure to clean

My plate of peas.

Every sleep is a death and

     every wakeup is a birth

     Life is in between it

as a dream of our sleep

From the opening to close of our eyes

     many struggles and desires play

They keep us as dolls to pull and push

We move in their directions with an illussions

Everything is in our hands and nothing is greater than us

24 HOUR PRAYER

I would like to challenge the world to have one day of peace, something this great land of ours really and truly needs For one day of peace, can we show each other a little human kindness, just leave all the bad memories and negativity behind us, as we say a prayer in silence For one day of peace, can we say no to anger and hello to love, for 24 hours, just think with our hearts, instead of always using our guns For one day of peace, can we truly be honest, not as an American or politician, but as one single person on this earth, that can see what the problem is For one day of peace, ca

ROSES

ROSES

By: Alexander Duque

Roses bunch of roses given to you,

Is it love or your just posses by the beauty and the color?

So what is it to honor?

The color is perfect,

But is there anybody who protect?

One day petals will fall,

Is there anybody to call?

It will be shattered into pieces

And you try to gather it all and put it together

 But it won’t stay forever.

Hoping its beauty will last,

But all of it is in the passed,

All you have is lust.

The Simplicities Of Life

Driven by anger

Consumed by hate

But still,

I don’t discriminate

I do not tell lies

I speak only truth

I only take what’s mine

I do not steal

I see life,

Through my own eyes

Living in a world of disaster

Dealing with mistakes every day

I’ve held back

Tried to hide the tears

Now its too late

Let them pour

Getting to the point of indecision

Should I even care

Not just one thing goes wrong

sorrow

YOU LEAVE ME IN THIS SOLITARY PLACE,

I TRY TO WIPE MYSELF CLEAN OF YOUR SHAME.

YOUR LOVE ONCE SWEET AND UNCONDITIONAL HAS BECOME POISON IN MY VEINS,

I  WOULD WILLINGLY EXCHANGE MY SOUL FOR ONE EMBRACE.

I YEARN FOR THE LOVE ONLY A MOTHER CAN GIVE.

I SEE MYSELF BECOMING PART OF YOUR PAST,

SUFFERING A THOUSAND DEATHS FROM EVERY AVERT OF YOUR EYES.

LEFT WITH THE REALIZATION THAT TO YOU I WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING MORE THAN A MISTAKE.

Imagination

You were always a figment

of my imagination.

You became my Knight

in Shining Armor

When I found you,

your heart was unprotected to me.

I entered through your

so-called protective covering,

Savoring the joys of seduction,

I plunged slowly, but yet swiftly,
