Rain Poem

Inside my head

Screaming for my loss

And never had.

Wanted the rain

To stay on cusp

Of falling.

And I scream for a God

I never knew

And who’ve I seen

Twice in my life.

But as soon as God came

     Like the rain

It fell and for a day or two

     Stayed on ground

     But soon

     Was swept away.

And people wait for sun

Say this is the day

The Lord has made.

     But days of rain

     Dark, gray and dank

     Those are the days

     The Lord has made.

And when he comes

He came

And when he goes

He’s gone.

And when the rain strays

The day is done.

Utterly spiritually poignant, georgeianxu

and so much relate, especially to "And I scream for a God I never knew And who’ve I seen Twice in my life." We can abandon ourselves to any concept of a higher being, but when the rain dries, where the fuck are they? Love this. cheers, Jess
