The Simplicities Of Life

Driven by anger

Consumed by hate

But still,

I don’t discriminate

I do not tell lies

I speak only truth

I only take what’s mine

I do not steal

I see life,

Through my own eyes

Living in a world of disaster

Dealing with mistakes every day

I’ve held back

Tried to hide the tears

Now its too late

Let them pour

Getting to the point of indecision

Should I even care

Not just one thing goes wrong

Things flow  like a stream

Just by one mistake

Followed by another

And another

Trusting freely

Has gotten me nowhere

I look at the world

Some things I just don’t understand

The people so fake

Acting, playing, as if they do not see

Not only do I see

I feel,

I feel down to the bone

So much misery

So much taken for granted

Life is a gift

Freewill is the light in the dark

Does anyone get what I mean

So many choices to be made

There are many paths to take

The path always taken

The path barely walked

I go where no one has gone before

I break down the trees

I cut the grass

To see the light

The wide open sky

I want a different view

No one is me

I live for the moment

I live for my dreams

Feeling as if the world does not see

The harmony in the gentle birds

The beauty of the sleek dark night

The passion in the deep blue sky

The simplicities of life

No matter how small

No matter how tiny

The simplicities of life

Awesome

This is an awesome poem. I don't have enough words to describe how it makes me feel but it resonates so deeply and is compelling to read. What resonates is the way you have described the way the life is and the way it ought to be......and the frustration of when it isn't...especially these lines..perfect! I go where no one has gone before I break down the trees I cut the grass To see the light The wide open sky I want a different view Kaz

yes!

you start out so strongly, so passionately that I was pumping my fist in the air. I had just thought alot of these things last week. The cascade of failure, the plastic people, etc. You got more mellow and introspective pretty quickly, but this is the most powerful piece of yours I've seen. Mark
