Between Me and You

It was the air that surrounded us
Leaving the memorable smell of forgotten dreams
But the voices that call us,
Are the promises of all the liars in our lives
But here you can be anything
Anything that scares you

It was the brown leaves and dying grass
That reminded me of old loves past
Remembering that not everyone is perfect in any way
But we all die and wither away
But here you can say anything
Anything that you really mean

It was the sound of swaying trees and crashing waves
The incandescent yellow glow of a lone candle in a room
The only light between me and you
When you cry, I feel your tears stream down my face
And when you lay awake all night
I can hear all your thoughts in my head
But here you can do anything
Anything that you want to

In my arms, you can feel everything
Everything that heals you
And I think that scares you

Nice Job

It was the sound of swaying trees and crashing waves The incandescent yellow glow of a lone candle in a room The only light between me and you Really poignant - beautiful writing! I liked these lines and the last stanza and can relate strongly to both -nice work! Kaz

beautifully and elegantly written

some lovely imagery. I love that love is scary. I wonder about the number of lines beginning with "but". It jars a bit with me but maybe you intended it. 8) cheers, Jess
