Tin Roofs & Rain (Imaging Workshop Entry)

Out for an early morning ramble
on an overgrown lane
The sky grey and overcast
menacing with rain.

I happen upon a long forgotten
and broken-down old barn.
pausing to rest a spell
I reflect upon this scene

Rusty tin roof sway backed and
sagging as an old saddle horse.
Tin edges warped and curled back
flutter in the wind.

Heavy rain drops begin to fall
and splatter into a fine mist

on the weather-beaten tin
then trickle off the edges
in a rusty colored spray
to puddle at my feet
in a pool of muddy grey.

Taking shelter under the eaves
I wonder to myself
how long this old barn
has stood the ravages of time.

About Me

About me

I am a Regisrered Nurse & have always loved taking care of people.
I love angels.
I am a 12 &1/2 year cancer survivor.
I consider myself a deeply spiritual & good person.
I am very shy and introverted but once I feel secure I become more outgoing.
I am a better listener than a conversationalist.
I believe that trust is the most important aspect in any relationship, & once it is gone it can't be easily recovered.
I believe in Karma & "doing unto others as I would have them do unto me" & "what goes around comes around."
I love animals & have 5 dogs.
I believe that we should love unconditionally & with all of our heart & soul. .
I say "I'm sorry" way too often.
I am an optimistic pessimist... or is it a pessimistic optimist?
I try not to take myself too seriously.
I am in a relationship that has lasted since 1968.
I enjoy reading, crafts, sewing, singing, music and spending time with my family.
And this has probably been too wordy & is subject to change.
