Wings
I wish that I could give you wings
so that you could soar above this pain
to a higher realm and leave behind
the weariness and anguish of earth.
I wish that I could give you wings
freeing you to ascend the skies
gliding effortlessly above
the cares and reality of this world.
And as the eagle, spread your wings
to climb in widening spirals the thermal winds
and gaze with wonder upon
the mountains and valleys of your life.
I wish that I could give you wings
giving with them, dauntless courage
enabling you to find your way
across the river into Heaven
discovering their the grace and beauty
your life has been.
so that you could soar above this pain
to a higher realm and leave behind
the weariness and anguish of earth.
I wish that I could give you wings
freeing you to ascend the skies
gliding effortlessly above
the cares and reality of this world.
And as the eagle, spread your wings
to climb in widening spirals the thermal winds
and gaze with wonder upon
the mountains and valleys of your life.
I wish that I could give you wings
giving with them, dauntless courage
enabling you to find your way
across the river into Heaven
discovering their the grace and beauty
your life has been.
