If Only You Could See Me Now

A Tribute to Rachele  Christine

If Only You Could See Me Now

If only you could see me now,
you'd be so amazed at the change in me!
For I have made the last transition ,
from a child of earth to sweet angel of Heaven.

If only you could see me now,
you'd know I am where I was meant to be.
A better place you could not have imagined,
than this beautiful place that is now my haven.

If only you could see me now,
as our Heavenly Father envisioned me
A brand new me that is quick and nimble,
free from all of my burdens and afflictions.

If only you could see me now,
my mind is so clear, free from the mistiness
that once clouded my every thought,
intelligence illuminating my beautiful grey eyes.

If only you could hear me now,
talking and laughing with grandma and granddad.
We have so much to share in this beautiful place,
surrounded by such peacefulness and grace.

If only you could see how happy I am,
you would not wish for me to return again,
to the body that once so encumbered me,
to the emptiness of the mind that was once my prison.

If only you could see me now,
you would not weep sad tears of loss.
Though your heart be broken, your spirit  bowed low,
this separation will not be for long.

If only you could see me now,
you would be happy for the beautiful new me.
and where ever you go I will also be,
for in your heart you carry a piece of me.

If only you could hear me now,
I would say to you, " please don't weep for me."
For while I know you miss my presence,
One day soon we will be together, to part no more.

If only you could see me now...

If Only You Could See Me Now

Debra, This is your first poem? Wow is all I have to say. You touched my heart with this one, and that is what it is all about. You did an awesome job~ _____________________________ To write a touching poem, you must gently stir the soul, if it brings forth tears or smiles, then the story was beautifully told. ________Janice Pearce_________

In my poem, I am speaking of Heaven. It is comforting for me to imagine her in a place where she is whole and free from the mental retardation and illness that she had on earth. I initially wrote this poem in an efort to console my brother and his wife after her very unexpected death. They were devastated to say the least. I hoped that my "vision" of her in paradise would bring them some degree of comfort. It was my first attempt at poetry. Thank you for kind comments. Sincerely~ Debbie
