A Ritual Endeavor
Your vapor brushes edges
my prism scatters time
presumptuous are circles
'round this sultry
sleight of hand.
Your song
a silent symphony
too raw to mend my tears
as it wedges through my essence;
floats half hung with muffled jeers.
Aphrodisiac of
redolence
mid ache of pointed pleasure
your release -
Read the rest of the poem Show less
implicit servitude;
a wealth of weight and measure.
On the edge,
a new adventure -
adrenaline courses my veins
and paints soft coats of colors
'cross your girth of gilded chains.
Tooled and punctured
leather bindings
gently link mortal disguise
enlightened by
two hearts of hope
seal forged
with bask and rise
of savored time to blend as one,
a ritual endeavor
in the cunning dreams of
"yet to be"
that bind we two
forever.

Buckskin and Bear Fat (Poetic Prose)
"Had I listened as the chickadee sang of winter's coming, I would have let my line stay cast a bit longer on those lazy summer days, or netted a few more salmon in the cold spring waters. But I was mustered in the deck of love's cards, feeling my own drizzle within lake shimmer and skies as blue as Egyptian Lapis." -

About Me
Raised in Aurora, on the Mesabi Iron Range of Northern MN, my heritage has been an inspiration and means of stability. I have written since I can remember; whether that be in my thoughts, on paper, or in a document.
I have chosen poetry as a way to connect with people and view poetry as a medium that invites one to evoke thoughtful emotion. I like many different styles of poetry from free verse to the old school structured formal verse. I will try my hand at all types when time permits. Always looking to improve my craft and share with others.
I believe in constructive reviews and look forward to receiving assistance as well as providing guidance. I do not believe in candy coating poorly written work though I do believe in diplomacy in critique. I view NeoPoet as a workshop and those posting should expect to receive and reciprocate honesty in critique and review. Anything less would be pointless in this environment.
After all - we write to be read.
Poetry is ...
Poetry is a medium that invites one to evoke thoughtful emotion.

there are planes
that hold emotion
and quiet whispers
that raise tiny hairs
each line evolves
in its poetic moment
captures grace
and reminds us
we are human
