An Aerosmith Rendezvous
She said, “I’m BACK IN THE SADDLE, don’t play coy,
Let’s skip all the chatter and bring out the toys.”
With a wink and a whip, she was ready to play,
I knew right then... I had to WALK THIS WAY.
She whispered, “PANDORA’S BOX is dusty on the shelf,
you’ll need both hands... and a dab of stealth.”
I tried hard to resist, but then lost all control,
when her ruby lips moaned, “There’s a HOLE IN MY SOUL.”
We made LOVE IN AN ELEVATOR... man what a blast,
hit the top floor strummin'... then ran out of gas.
Still tangled in lace, taken to THE OTHER SIDE,
she purred, “Now you’re mine" as she straddled to ride.
We played until dawn with TOYS IN THE ATTIC,
The ropes she bound tight, her rhythm erratic.

I DON’T WANT TO MISS A THING, I confessed,
she played out her sins... had me fully obsessed.
She left with the sun, SWEET EMOTION left behind,
I'll DREAM ON she whispered, “You're one of a kind.”
Now I wait by the door with a glint in my eye,
when she returns... we’ll set fire to the sky.

"Excellent free-verse. Great flow. The imagery, the sights. Loved it! I could smell the bagel carts and vibe with the music. My only hitches were the sudden drop of "we" in stanza 4 where "We slip beneath...". And the do…" -

New York City in a Day
"Morning stretches its limbs over the city’s spine. At the MET, marble arches rise like quiet cathedrals. Brushstrokes flutter... a pharaoh smiles, a ballerina hangs in mid-pirouette forever lost midair. Central Park exhales. Saxophones soulful vibrato drifts across the lake, pigeons scatter like racing thoughts. Bagel carts aroma filling the air. A golden retriever in a Yankees sweater chases falling leaves. SoHo buzzes... graffiti bleeds down brick confessions. Storefronts glimmer, coffee-scented wisps drift through open doors, somewhere, someone paints the night. In the Village, the streets draw closer. History smolders in basement bookstores, sidewalks echo with words once belonging to poets. I slip beneath a red awning into a jazz club where the bass thrums under neon, and a trumpet weaves spells into the night The city pulses... a living thing. New York City never sleeps. It's always listening." -
