Arsenic

Arsenic?

Does it make you sick.

If it was baked in a pie.

On the other, hand in a stir fry.

Wonder does it smell.

Can it be tasted, can the user tell.

Who gave the dose.

Does the aroma, stick to the clothes.

Could it be administered in very small portions.

Bring instant death, or just convulsion.

Linger on the breath, before the victim dies.

Hand on heart, and telling lies.

Cremation may be better.

To throw the red setter.

Off the trail.

Of the old lady, so frail.

Self Inflicted Armageddon

I sit and patiently and watch the debris’s fall and I know it wont be long in a world that I know and love.

I sit and wait with baited breath not knowing what is to come or what will be.

The horizon burnished, aglow, a noise of deafening proportions as the bomb wrecks its path.

My sense’s on a heightened state of alert, hair tingling as the hour of my death approaches.

I marvel at the spectrum of the horizon as the skyline contorts and blends a fusions.

My eyes flicker with the resultant LSD range of colors I gaze with a morbid curiosity.

Medication Please!

cracks appear in my skin.

tell tale signs of my addiction

to the all conquering sun bed.

secular radiation creeping in

door opens and in steps cancer man,

glad of his careless host.

Favourite aphorisms

In a dog eat dog world, it is better not to be a dog.

When freedom is outlawed only the outlaw is free.

I am forever unwrapping the eternal present.

Rhyme, like garlic, is a wonderful servant but a terrible master.

Lost Innocence

we were young then
just children having fun together
swimming in the pool
walking together to the movies

we were happy then
with neighbourhood kids
playing kick the can
hide and seek in the dark

were were innocent then
natural, naive
trusting each other
enjoying our friends

we were gullible then
unsophisticated
open, truthful
and just genuine

those were simpler days
children told others
what was what
held nothing back

Significance of Words

my words are who I am
from deep inside
they share hurts
tell of pains
express sentiments
encourage others
support causes
connect hearts
keep flowing through poems

without words
I could not even whisper
would be void of voice
unheard
invisible
nothing

Blank

Blank

A solid white

The canvas

What shall one do

To mess up just one time

Could change the path of life

The smile on the face

It just might be fake

The sadness in the eyes

Just might not ever go away

So the blankness defines the life

The freedom

The blessed idea of ones free will

Do you make a mark

Risk a mistake

Or is it that maybe

It might be the greatest thing

As you walk through life the blankness will fade

Lost

Locked away deep inside

Is where I hide

No one to blame

No one to call

Alone

Backed against the wall

I see you

You don’t see me

Where have I gone

What have I done

I stand alone

Somewhere I’ve never been

How many miles

How many steps

How do I find what I lost

When what I lost was myself

Dream World

i have been to hell and back

I have seen the lightning crack

I have heard the songs you sing

I have felt the love you bring

But i can’t seem to let go

I have been to the ends of earth

I have seen a new day’s birth

I have heard the words you speak

I have felt you trembling weak

But i can’t seem to tell myself no

When you speak your words untrue

When you fix your heart with glu

When you lie a million words

When you kill a mocking bird

Sinner To A Saint

Let my worries free
Release the evil that lurks inside me
Break free from the eyes of judgement
Leaveing my past in the past
Invokeing the love of Christ
Changeing from a sinner to a saint
Its a choice that I have made
One that was to better the person I am today
Loveing myself instead of hateing
Changeing from a sinner to a saint
I’m a good peson at heart
This no one can take
Liveing life to be happy
Instead of liveing to be greedy
I have no regrets
There is much I have learned along the way
Changeing
