Anamnesis

In the score of my life,
at that time where it was scripted
that I would meet you,
was also authored
the beginning of our goodbye.

But, before that farewell reached its finale,
your cavatina was written.

And that melody lingers forevermore
in the song of my soul.

Pharmakos [Scapegoat] edit

PHARMAKOS

the world I knew had never seen
a madness such as this
for Man has fallen a second time
and there is no Lamb to crucify;
was one man’s Blood not precious
enough to satisfy this God’s fury
for the failure of Creation:
we are lost in a never-ending vortex
of transgression and retribution

and sadly n many ways, we are
Victim and Executioner.

Street Lamp Lean

neon,
splashing rainbows over
the slow motion silence of a veiling fog

the muffled thump of a car door
footsteps,
a woman, fading away

a distant dog howls

the infernal damp,
creeping lowdown and mean,
lapping mist from oil slicked puddles

a harbor horn bellowing in fear,
buoys clang,
blinded hope, sinking

seabirds scatter

Rewind Mode

I trudge along the corridor
yet again,
a deserted, fractured space
its pillars crumbling
almost grumbling
by intrusion of steps I tread
creaking in the silence
where once birds chirped
now only a lone shadow walks
on the walls
upon which were painted murals
of alpha, beta, erotica
now covered in the soot
of flickering flames defying wind
embers turned to ashes
and in the ashes i smell gasoline

APOCALYPSE

APOCALYPSE

Pale yellow rays of a midnight moon
pierce through Earth’s dark secrets
to uncover mysteries seen only by those
of special perception.
and the stars, like frozen diamonds
transfixed in an indigo sky, cease all
movement, and the Universe known to man
shudders in dreadful anticipation
of the coming End Time
prophesied in Revelations.
man is blinded by his own importance
and is as one who is deaf to Heaven ‘s warnings.

Pity not this Bradford

Fashioned from millstone grit
no soft, red brick here.
The mill towers
and countless spires
still shape the skyline.
Whilst all around
this steep sided city,
the moors and dry stone walls
play backdrop,
a wild, elemental border.

the blemish

.
I took a blood-red rose
and pressed it
between the pages of my heart
where it dried
paper thin
and brittle
leaving a black bruise
the colour of pain

silliest poet me

I have a small ...
dull and silly mind

cannot concentrate
beyond 14 lines
as I am partially blind!

that's why I love sonnets
I am lovedly
new for thee

no last three lines
are not a haiku

I hate counting syllables
silly one's
once did it

ABOUT CANDLES AND FLAMES

ABOUT CANDLES AND FLAMES
A flame that flickers in the night
endures the winds that would
extinguish its light.
but until the fire dies to itself
It is fire still up to the time
it burns no more.
we are candles lit that sear
the universe with our fire
week or strong
and as long as one cinder burns
the inimitable soul will continue to glow…

D U S T E R

vinyl seat
vanilla and cream
the miles streaming
Living the dream
across Alberta
the Prairies
ideal
gas and lodging
then was a steal
the giants of
commerce
all mountains
of glass
we were tiny
and humbled
in the tall of
the pass
Wind whipping
songs from
the vintage
cassettes
all giddy
excited most
taking bets
..
and there I
get interupted
by Bunni
yelling now
gotta go
something about
a sticker on her
