Moving Muses ... or 'the atrocious behaviour displayed by my muses when I moved house' (Storytelling in Verse WS)

Introduction

I've four - yes four - muses. They argue and fight,
each with the other, re what I should write.

And sometimes I'm certain these guys are the ones
declined by the more gifted literary guns.

They all worked together - at least for a while -
until I changed address, and then - you may smile

but, muses, like cats, can become quite deranged.
I found out, the hard way, they don't much like change.

And, as you shall see if you give me your time,
especially prone - those who constantly rhyme.

CREDO

CREDO

…and so, the wars continued on,
and Heaven’s madness was upon us.
large numbers took flight from the city
in search of a safe haven from God’s fury,
for His Wrath was upon us and fear stole
the heart of Man. Faith in a Universal Goodness
that filled the Void of Nothingness no longer
captured their understanding and a sickening
Inquisition of Truth troubled their Soul …

RHINESTONEDLACE

turned newels
throw light like overflowing
pools lapped with amber

a brilliant sun scorches
its tongue on a sky
like gasoline on water

The End Is Near

A bunch of
woo woo wizards
and wiccan bitches
whipped up a batch
of lizard stew.

To lunch, or brunch?
hatched a feud.
They argued the dickens.
A schism ensued

Curse and spell
flew fast and wild.
Alas, none were felled.
Being tellingly beguiled,

they quickly disbanded,
except for a few;
landing fellowships in
bullshit at SF state U.

Evil pt. 2

My reality is meant to be shared for me
Because I realize who I dare to be
A man to face the evils of my choices
More so willing to ignore the peoples voices
That I think I hear, letting it guide me to drink for years
To numb the pain of everyone else
Judging myself based on how everyone felt
I let them give me a new pair of shoes
Though I had an old soul, my point of view
Was terribly misinformed, a man similar to a woman scorned
It's pitiful stooping as low as doing rituals

Set Adrift...

Empty eyes see only fears
Lies wander by my head
The heart of the matter shows tears
I'm wishing I were dead
The pain of my story holds fast
Treachery comes from the inside
Bound by my love to the mast
Swept away by the tide
Davy Jones helms my wallowing ship
My compass spins, holds no heading
Reach out for my hand on the trip
It's the ending that I'm dreading

Eden Smiled

I ambled among the Daydreams
bathed in sun lit flaunts,
each one graced and charmed it seems
by drops of lemon light taunts.

I relished every single cup
made of silk attire,
each one tall and all grown up
'midst flames of golden fire.

I watched as people stopped and bowed,
stooped to their gala,
each one wooed and nosy wowed
to whiff their perfume parlor.

NUZZLE

dust clouds
tear up behind us
ten to two on the
wheel
some outrageous
music on
long coats
and dress shoes
We look like poor
gamblers and
failed molls
heart ache and
bad lives etched
in our spoiled
grins

Dragons Breath

Once upon a time a dragon wept;
fair maidens never seemed to understand
why elder set appointments went unkept
(his fervent wish, let sacrifice be banned).
The errant knights who wandered on strange quests
amused him with their pennant, shield and lance,
one hiccup as his hurried lunch digests
would have Sir hot-foot skip a comic dance.

No entertaining tin-can with a spear
could woo him from a woeful want of sleep
at length he sadly quit this sordid sphere
as villagers' vile stories cut too deep.
