A FOOL IN THE RAIN

Leaves toss to shed the falling rain.
Try as they might they remain wet
while clouds above them drip and drain.
And the storm is not done yet.

The same drops smite my weathered hat
whose wide brim keeps my old neck dry.
But I grow damp in spite of that
like all who walk beneath gray sky.

The ground is soaked as is my staff
so I make my way most carefully
while nearby brooks fill up and laugh.
I guess that they're chuckling at me.

Stinky Skunk Cabbage

I am a lilly most unique,
my name is stinky skunk cabbage
because my leaves and flowers reek
I am a lilly most unique
I ooze the stench that flesh flies seek
and slugs delight in my leafage
I am a lilly most unique
my name is stinky skunk cabbage.

Meridian

What are flowers
seen through eyes
which never felt
love inside the heart

what is snow
if never white
but ashes
falling from the sky

what if love
was like a lark
flying fast
into the dark

if you never held
one and not the other
who can say how
life can have a tether

Walking through

Happy, happy faces all around
nobdy is sad. Well, who made up feelings?
Who encaged human beings? - Nobody

Look at nature revolving,
look at men not evolving:
names, gods, theories, numbers...
believe whatever you want to believe
Stop. Begin.

I got my mind and that is my biggest problem
I got my heart and that is my biggest empire

I stepped behind and I broke a glass
I rose up and I touched your smile
So cmon keep reaching the unknown
Slide down beneath the doors.

Saddening, Ever Saddening

memories bite, knuckle white,
plodding upward,
struggling
the insufferable trod
of deep dream life,
the dank of cold sweats.

'face me in the light'

pleading murmurs taunt,
from every dark recess,
a ceaseless chant;
feel me,
embrace me,
the pain,
the shame.

'I am never leaving'

zzz...but, I can't.

To A Dear Friend

Thank you, my friend
for turning my frown,
upside down
and nurturing
the seeds of joy
in my heart
when I felt I'm lost
and torn apart.

TWO MILK;ONE SUGAR

a few sad coins
jingle in the palms
on a blistering hot
spring day
Its coffee I crave
in the depths of
winter fine
its coffee I crave
warming in the tummy
beneath an indifferent
beautiful sun
the caravan beauties
hawking their wares
taxation and inventory
the same old story
But I take my cup
and settle to my pew
to drink my meditative
sustenance and watch
the few
In my pockets of a
summer jacket
i carry all the things
I need for my racket

Llyn-Llech-Owain - ( translation = The Lake Of Owains slab )

We often walk around Llyn Llech Owain
in boots that tread the muddy puddle course
our dogs in tow, we pass the yellow gorse,
then stop to view the spruce and lodge pole pine,
with air that’s clean and sky that’s blue all’s fine.
The land is brackish, overgrown and coarse,
beguiling Gwendraeth valley’s river source,
a blackish lake where golden lilies shine.
This lake, so say, was caused by Owain Red,
a man in charge of Mynydd Mawr’s well,
indeed he was, until his big mistake,
for Owain Lawgoch, more precisely said

The Aspiration

I spy a butterfly at play;
its wings, the spring; what one must ink;
it hides to tease, we seek and yay,
I spy a butterfly at play.
We find, and then it guides the way,
and writes with gold what one must think,
I spy a butterfly at play;
its wings, the spring; what one must ink.

The Pain Will Go

One day,
you don’t think so,
but when he’s fat and grey
you wont ask why he didn’t stay.
For now, it’s painful, but at least you tried.
Time is a healer so they say,
though it seems far away
the pain will go
one day!
