The Waters Edge

Take me down to the water's edge
down to the ocean floor
so many treasures there
waiting for me to explore

Cooling darkened water
yields assuage
from the oppressive heat
within the depths surroundings
there is a gentle heartbeat

Show me the path that leads
to Neptune's open door
there upon a bed of seaweed
my weary head to lay
where I may be lulled to sleep
while little fishes play

NOT NEW Evanescence

Evanescence
the heart fears
the loss of someone
so loved

would we lose all memory
a loved one lost to eternity
in moments
like a rainbow in the sky
after a brief rainy storm
just comes and vanishes
in a moment

like the rainbow
across the Niagara mist
does
Evanescent

sense of fragrance it does leave
but fading memory a fear breeds

will ye forget the one that came
but now has gone

a young one
just of three days
only
lost her mommy

Serenity

I hear the water in the park
I hear the wind in the trees
I hear the sound of a meadow lark
Birds chirping in the distant breeze

Learning to appreciate the simplest things
To most is so unnatural
Next best thing to having wings
Or having a favourite pal

To observe the world around me
"What took me so long?"
To learn to let it be
Simply partake in a song

Surrounded by loved ones
Life has taken a turn
In love I have lost
Now I have won

returning breeze

my shadow was swept by a cloud cover
breath carried away by the wind
beneath eyelids I see us
dancing on that serene cloud
in those moments of whelming
bitter sweet tears flow in rivulets of rain

where we played, wild flowers swing in spring
in summer I remember the bug spray you'd bring
winter when I feel the chills
I pull the comforter beside
though it doesn't have lining of your skin
brings goosebumps upon mine

FLITTING SHADOWS

Has it been just eight short years
since first I sent electrons on their way
while I cringed in anxious fears
On that long ago cool day?

I sent them then to my surprise
I received encouragement from others
Kind strangers I can now surmise
who became almost like sisters and brothers.

And time ticed by as is its way
while I found my own type style
in lines which talked of limbs that sway
or even love poems once in a while.

Real Essence of Beauty 'tis

The essence of beauty
doesn’t lie
in powder rouge or lipstick
it lies
in its natural form

a smile
a blush
flowing hair
black or brown
eyes shy
full of reverence
looking at one's face and smiles
love shows through one’s eyes
as the smile electrifies
a lovers’ all his/her while

then comes the worthiness
of any person
is appreciation
how much you can shower glory
on another one is an art
matter of beautiful story
but all can’t summon

It's Not the First Time I've Bled

It's not the first time I've bled
but it's the first time
that I remember
enjoying it
when I scraped my knuckles
and opened a gash
against the sharp edge of a stainless steel table
I caught in just the wrong way.

I smiled,
I remember smiling
and thinking
"this doesn't hurt too much."
It's not the first time I've bled.

Other than that
I wore it like a badge
for an hour or two.

My mother told me to be careful;
I may not survive the next round.

Purporting Peace

Broken walls, empty halls, danger's an owl,
burning barrels hail with devil's anger.
Bight days as well as darkness howl and howl,
bang bang, am I e'er deaf to the clangor?

No river_banks to walk along, no strolls,
Ninja's powered breaths burned the vacuumed wood.
Noisy sea_gulls once were, now fear the trolls,
nothing's left where ancient histories stood.
