Blue Light Special
Faces gather in the blue glow,
yet somehow drift apart.
A thousand conversations blooming,
few reaching the heart.
We trade handshakes for reactions,
porches for endless feeds.
Collecting fragments of attention,
while starving deeper needs.
Friends become profile pictures,
laughter compressed to lines.
We witness curated moments,
mistaking them for lives.
The coffee cools beside us,
the sunset slips away.
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Eyes fixed upon a glowing window,
while life waits just outside the frame.
Seasons turn without asking,
children grow, old friends move on.
We promise we’ll reconnect tomorrow,
then wonder where the years have gone.
The world still sings in birdsong,
in campfires, storms, and trees.
In stories shared face-to-face,
and comfortable silences at ease.
Yet the current pulls us deeper,
scroll by scroll, day by day.
Not with malice or intention,
just a thousand small delays.
Then one day the screen goes dark,
and the room becomes still and clear.
We finally hear the voices
that were waiting all those years.
The question is not what we posted,
or how many hearts approved.
It’s who we held,
who we loved,
and whether we looked up
before they moved

"Beautiful Poem. This really showed the distinction between living life from the blue light and living life outside the blue light. I wrote a poem that is similar to that theme. I will post it later and please don't stop…" -

"this is a lot of near and very close rhyme. I liked it for the most part, it could have been a bit better with the meter, but with a little tune-up, this could be quite easy to read and appreciate. ~ Geezer." -
