the yearning of my skin
on your knees and begging
for something just like this
that doesn’t quite exist
in your bed up thinking
wouldn’t you just miss
whatever this still is?
stealing glances
sinking even further in
are we still even friends?
i’m not alone in seeing
how often your eyes drift
Read the rest of the poem Show less
down toward my lips
so won’t you ever notice?
the yearning of my skin
in every room we’re in
on your knees and begging
for something just like this
that i’d willingly give
on your knees and begging
for something just like this
I lean in to your kiss
stealing glances
sinking even further in
are we still the same kids?

on the yearning of my skin from @Lavender
"Hello, Leo, Wonderful title that leads to the intimacy here, and its strong tension. Love the brevity and the tercet form. I'm wondering about the word "kids" in the final line. The poem felt so deeply mature up to that…" -

"Hello! Read this a few times, and liked it more each time. At first, it felt a bit too formal. Then, it began to reveal the narrator's character and deeper feelings - such observation, and so much cautious adoration. "H…" -
