i can be patient
let’s have a picnic, let’s play guitar, dance in the kitchen, kiss in your car. let’s let’s let’s- find a cool summer evening: stay up gazing stars
or sit for a movie in cemetery park
let’s become friends most of all
and practice trust as we fall
on my chest tracing scars
my slow beating heart
she’ll repeat the refrain
“i feel safe in your arms”
being cautious and kind
listen close to your heart
sun showers, night skies
stealing looks, dealing cards
may the light find your eyes
may the calm soothe your heart
