I Wanna Love You
I want to love you in a way that makes your past demons flea your soul.
I want to love you past the limits of yours and my control.
I want to intertwine our spirits like braids
Interlock our souls like dreads.
As this love embarks on a righteous journey.
Out of body experience
I stand beside myself as I watch you turn me.
Turn me into a better version of the man you initially accepted.
I became exceptional because of your acceptance.
I found you because of my humility and deference.
Deference to God’s plan.
Followed the ordered steps
To be the right man.
The right provider, protector, and gentleman.

It takes a gentle man to provide stability in the workplace and exercise a little empathy at home.
Because a protector protects the heart from more than just outside force.
Protection of course,
is protection from a man’s inconsistency.
A man shouldn’t be near you,
And love you distantly.
Trust ain’t earned instantly,
It’s done persistently.
I want to love you.
Most of all,
I want you to know I do.
Thank you for letting me.
Your trust in me is what strengthens me.
Loving you made me stronger,
And I’ll probably live longer
because you gave me a reason.
It’s our season,
For love to grow,
For us to know,
What loving each other will make us do
It just feels good knowing,
You wanna love me,
And I wanna love you.
