The Hour That Didn’t Haunt Me

Rewriting Memory

I don’t quite recall the trinket, the memento
The ornament we had agreed to exchange
I remember the call from the night before
I recall how overnight everything felt strange

I remember the disappointment, the distress
How everything built up so quickly had changed
How in those last few days finding out the truth
Like it had been serendipitously arranged

(She) "Impotence" by: eddy styx

She...
She wraps her words around me
like a warm tortilla.
I want to eat her eyes
so I can see
(me)
the way she does.
Her volcanic verbs shoot
P...U...L...S...I...N...G
hot liquid through my veins
and
SHE causes me to lose all
CoNtRoL
over my bladder
and
I turn my red(face) to the shadows.
and
quickly s~l~i~n~k away.
If (i) were woman
and
SHE were man
This would NOT be unacceptable
male (frailty) weakness
but
demure beguiling femininity

Yo... Adrian!

The man with the money,
gets it, 'honey',
got him a wallet full of words.

He's sleek, he's trim,
there's confidence in him.
He migrates; a flashy snowbird.

Gated communes, tanning by the pool
a drink on the balcony.
Dinner lights, fireworks nights,
watching a favorite movie.

See you next month,
have to hear your tales.
I'll be shocked, "Oh really,
up there, in the sails?.

Dreams

Dream poem, March 2026

A thousand
dreams,
running
through time,

powerful,
i fly,
i cry,
and cry,
until I
Float upon
the lake,
of tears,

i conquered
fears,
by dreaming,
throughout
the years,

now
i dream,
of being
a queen
no longer
unseen,
unheard,
no more
a
discouraging
word,

i dream
of a love
for me,
it's easy
to dream
don't
you agree?

She

She moves like a thought
you almost remember,
soft at the edges,
bright in the center.

She carries calm the way
others carry noise,
letting the world settle
wherever she stands.

She doesn't ask for wonder.
She simply becomes it-
in the tilt of her smile,
in the hush she leaves behind
when she walks away.

Now gone, I hold memories
that remind me of a promise
she once made.

*

Need
someone like you
here
Someone who choose
to care
with fully loving
heart
If that was ever
like that
Someone who choose
to end
difficulties with smile
Who choose to laugh
with you
instead crying about it
in bed

ever silent

Here within lies
a recollection
of large talons
that tear smooth

creamy flesh

a cadence ricochets
off paint peeled walls
of the clatter as soles
strike dry dirt and stone

blood rushes

two sets of eyes
squint and scan
backs hunched low
only darkness shields

momentary peace

words mumbled
in restless sleep
betray the vessel
of secrets deep

burial crypt

posterity's portal
reveals a clue
gravestone cipher
the silent cue.

Emotional Emergency

In your worst days
read these words
so they can wake up
the sun on its day off

When your heart cries
let me listen
until pain is alerted
it has a new friend request

Yes, I know
you are at your lowest
so let me send you
to the roof
of your happiness

Proud of who you became—
a man who loves
as if it’s about to be extinct

Keep being you
and if someone
tells you no
I will be there
to transport you
to those
who have you
on their mind
like tomorrow’s
10 a.m. conference call

Nothing Gets Lost Here

Rewriting Memory

It was the last performance of the season
In fact, it was the last one of a short career
So every note I played and every step I took
I made sure to enjoy along with my peers

I can still hear the music like an echo
I can still see their faces along with smiles
We were a tight group filled with honor and pride
We probably must’ve walked a thousand miles
