APPEARANCES

APPEARANCES

The Sun sets crimson red
into Horizon blue-indigo
and rises fire electric
the world to show
until moonlight strikes
In Life's ebb and flow.

But the Sun is nothing more
than a burning star
and the Moon a lonely place
barren and scarred.

We see things not as they are
but as we wish them to be--
icons of Immortality.

Where is the Christ I once knew
Where did all the miracles go..
And why does the Flesh suffer so
into horizon blue-indigo.

Like a lone lantern in the night

Like a lone lantern in the night
it's gentle beams like your fingers
playfully caressing me to ignite
a passionate thirst which lingers

Tossing and turning in my blues
like a lone lantern in the night
I bare my heart of nascent hues
fading in the pangs of my plight

My eyes now weary for your sight
flame slowly dimming in my heart
like a lone lantern in the night
it's flickering glow set to part

We aren't lost to greed and gold

As consciousness rose
so did the shadows in men,
until the white sun rises
and leaves turn unfolding Zen

In the long grass of sleep we all lay
awaiting the awakening to life,
innocence filled our atoms
but we breathed in being and strife

In all the evil that’s been bourn
perpetuating the threat of old,
is the rotten heart of humanity
and with stealthy legs he rolls

As lessons of history were shared
the sins of time have repeated,
and the hordes filled with hate
storm the Tara pets at our feet

Glitch

The ocean cannot quench,
And rain doesn't drown,
But a lungful of water,
You end up in the ground.

When clouds spew lightning,
Soon after thunder lurks.
The manliest are startled,
Kids share their waterworks.

Nothing really known,
Yet wiki scholars all around,
Nothing actually sown,
Yet weeds ubiquitously found.

The eggs started to hatch,
But the chicken remains frozen.
The light inside is broken,
But the fridge is still working.

A L A H L o i

pools of light
sped
we rush the streets
wide
composed of an Autumn
Atlantic greyed

Sipping the sin
parched with the thirst
Fever scorned
on color cheeks
and dazzle eyes

Steady the bus hum
turn turn turn
tall canyon window
sheets of light
bathe you
poised supine
tossed thought
depth reverie
stubs tickets
and cans
awash
in its swaying
seductive
and wanton
the decadence
of desire

At the light of the moon (March Contest)

At the light of the moon

It's dark outside, a dreamer's wish
She raised her wishes in a dish
The Caribbean, flying fish
She checkmarks dream cruise on her list.

Though the light of the moon thus lit
It's dark outside, a dreamer's wish
Her lifelong dreams are coming true
Virgin Islands, her blues are few.

Her sight is on new adventure
Hawaii her July venture
It's dark outside, a dreamer's wish
Her dreams coming true, perfect fit.

JOY JOE

Joy

Your thoughts percolate
through the abyss we all state
of mind at heaven’s gate
where is it tis!
No there is no meeting
at the end ordained
the time when it comes
no one will know

you have been so deprived
so as to be able to voice your prize
ere many falter
at their summoned altar
in fright and fear
as no one will be then as near
as poets out here

When Darkness Falls (March Contest)

i know that somewhere there is light
my house is dark, but have no fright,
i've nightlights up and down the hall
they shine though they are very small

the sky is black, no pinpricks bright
i know that somewhere there is light
there's really nowhere else to go
I try to keep my breathing slow

the wind is picking up i hear
perhaps the clouds will fin'lly clear
i know that somewhere there is light
though shadows loom both left and right

Mr. Edgar Aleph

the stars light the grass of the skies quiescent
that retardation are kindled to log fire
of Edgar in the armies heeled boots
than when we were imprisoned,
by silence of pulse in the shrinkage comatose
arrested and by reason, we wrote Aleph lightening
to Edgar if we secretly needed loosening bolts-
and though on snow, sodded ice grills glum
whits is the unicorn in its hermitage
birches bring on he cricketers cormorants
--- Edgar, three tiered parallelogram dashes
turned upside to the where they can swim

For Troy

(Anguish)

We are gasping
at the silence,
the strings
ceased to vibrate

We are lost, we are lost

In the emptiness
we have flashes,
and then your there
within us again
for just a sliver
of time

Your absolute joy
of amazing rhythm
still lives on breathing
new life in memory

(Celebration)

In the thousand sighs of sorrow
that have rippled from our lips,
when the pain has hooked his anchor
and when our hearts just cannot sleep?
