Anger roils within my head
as I bolt from work
slamming my old pick up's door
and screeching from the parking lot.

Everyone it seems today
did their best to make life hard
for this balding southern man.

Damn! that Toyota cut me off!
So I send a finger on his way
through traffic creeping like a slug.
Suitable end for this crap day.

At last I make it out of town.
Cars speed up and separate
making me ease up on my frown.
Turning my thought to a small stream.

Silver cars silver flowers
Silver wires silver teeth
Silver moon crescent coinage
Silver ice on winter branch
Stainless highway silver spoon
Razor Blades silver dream
Faucet and one silver drop
Silver wheels silently
Glide my silver nerves
Silver are my stars
The skyline which obsesses us
With silver
The veins of earth
Which taught us the knife

Now that the house finally surrenders,
To the silent terms of my arms
My divided time now remembers
How that age once burned

Time interred by the slow procession of beasts,
Burdened by image made, for minds that retreat
Back into that slackened time, where
Nothing is required,
Nothing inspired
Just to be-
And not to have presence of any kind

I know that you think like me,
Our minds are full of blackbirds,
Wind gusts, lost bees, blown twigs
Off course by the night tides
In the particle sea.

Electromagnetic energy replete in heat not light
encompasses as a hot blanket as gravity is fought.
Heat rises and the stone awaits its fury.
Time, pressure and heat are all.

The grapevine yielded a most salacious fruit.

Plaintive cries of want and challenge drift through misted wood and meadow
