The Final Hour
i heard
the banal cry
of a fallen angel
as he rose slowly
upon the cross
in the blank darkness
it was finished
a second angel
ascended on high
weeping in anguish
and gently kissing
the wounds
that had saved humanity
the soldiers
Read the rest of the poem Show less
His detractors
falling heavily
upon their knees
His executioners
the unbelieving horde
shook in abject terror
His mother
and two disciples
beneath His feet
He said woman
do not weep for Me
but behold
I shall make all things new
then from above
the angelic symphony
they knew
the passion, the horror
and the sweet annihilation
so with it the purchase
of total salvation
He raised His head
upon the heavens
upon the crown of thorns
and once again
He cried in a loud voice
Father it is finished

"It's not the apostrophe you need, all you need to do is to make a space with the space bar after the commas in your lines that have the commas. PS. Sorry, silly me. You've already done that, but not with all of them in…" -

"This is very good on the passion story. Yes the purchase of salvation. I thought when I read the small passage of the mother how difficult to watch. As a mother I would want to sit there until the end. It's interesting…" -

"This is a really great write, but it needs some revision, e.g. places, cities, names etc; needs to have a capital letter and you need spacing between your commas. If you’d like some help, I’d gladly do this for you. Xen…" -

"Don't normally give stars on a first poem but I think this is a very cleverly written piece. Great rhythm and flow and lots of little nuances...I love it and I am happy to nominate it too. Well done Seabhac" -
