Reindeer and Pâté
Reindeers and pâté
[To my dear friend’ Ann]
I loved to hear
And
Feel with delight
The words you sang
Of goose down wrapped
In a cold Winter’s night
Snow covered timber roofs
A fire burning inside
To keep the chill away
The days at Gro’s
The Salads
Fish
French cheeses,
Wines and pâté
The sway of Autumn leaves
As a reindeer passed by
The Nordic lights that filled
A Scottish soul
With the joys of life
These gifts you did give to me
In my moments sad and dark
I long to listen once again
To your lyrics young and bold
And share these times
Once more
As we two grow old.
