Mother Love

Mother Love

Soaring on the winds of life
Above the seas of sorrow
I gaze upon the distant past
And touch upon the 'morrow

Lives and loves I left behind
To those that lie ahead
Restless dreams of future times
Haunted by those now dead

Stars that fade into the day
As you bathe within its light
Until the day once more fades
And you plunge into the night

The moonlit dreams of yesteryear
Like movies on a screen
Carressed by flickering candlelight
That lends a silken sheen

Float now upon the gentle waves
Of this mother we call earth
Until with heaving shudders
She brings you forth in birth
