This Stillness

THIS STILLNESS

I need to understand and know

Where does all the noise go

The happy laughter

Anger’s tears

Smiles that sing

Love never ending

Where is the murmur of a kiss

The warm connection of a hug

Eyes that whisper good-bye

At the very last sigh

This stillness

Doesn’t speak to me

Those things I ache to hear

And see

Quiet abandonment

A second in eternity

Tell me

Where did it all go

This love I once knew

Mists floating in memory

From me to you.

Ann of Norway Longobardolino:- The silence of anticipation fixed, in time, no stir, no chime of bells, no telephone, just silence reigns. Supreme and clean, no dust is stirred, no knock on doors of fate, I wait ,and waiting springs the seams of my desire, so leaving me an empty pew, of hollow sounding choirs of angels, falling tears of sorrows, spent, no money, no covenant of friends, alone I sit and meditate my loss, of joyful laughter, those familiar things, that jog the memory, its strains of peace. Meditate on you bard, your mind strained to hear the unheard songs you cannot see, and yet they're there inside of thee-or just you!!! Less poetic! Your Annuccia The end very slightly begs a following line in my sense of the whole, but it is good nonetheless.
