Per Mari: a poem updated [English]

Per mari….

[Through seas: dedicated to all those who tried to find a better way]

On ships through many seas
Over
Waters black and grey
I seek  a better way
Leaving all I know behind
Blind to my destiny
Never to return again
To the ends
Of this earth I will go
Alone
 WIth longings in my soul
To plant my seed
And see it grow
Alone
On ships through these seas
Over
Waters dark and cold
I seek a place
To rest my soul
Plant my seed
And
See it grow
To sleep my eternity
Leaving all I know behind
 Again

Ever the Gypsy, Joseph Longo-Geremia

Ann of Norway Roaming and roaming, across the great expanses of the sea, with the vast sky above alone, some have done this in a boat alone, but they were not searching for the same as you are here, or were they? It must take extremes of character to even be able to travel for so many months alone on the ocean waves, through storms and calms, but then when they return they must feel they have seen something most of us never do, and what was that, we do not know. You strike a note so permanent, so full of a quality of sonority, it continues after we have read the poem on and on forever in our minds as we imagine ourselves taking your alternate way, in so dramatic a manner. You set a scene and we are immediately a part of it, and find ourselves too, alone and lonely. Your Annuccia.

Ever think perhaps we are

Ever think perhaps we are flying Dutchman, forever bound, forever homeless but in the moment? ~ "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi
