My daddy loves me

A smile on his baby's face
That should be his aim
She loves him...
He should love her back.

When my father tucked me in at night
I had no fear
His kiss didn't make me flinch
He never wanted to hurt me.

When he brought ice cream home
It was because he wanted to
He had no other reason
He just wanted to make me smile.

He read me bedtime stories
And showed me pictures of princesses
He did not show me filthy books
He didn't show me ugly things.

He took me for a drive to show me bunnies
To show me birds
He never stopped to hurt me
He only wanted to hear me laugh.

He kissed my bruises
My scraped knees and stopped my nose bleeds
He did not cause them
He never hurt me

He never snuck into my room
If he did it was to watch me sleep
He  wanted me to stay little
He never tried to steal my childhood.

He gave me the best
Everything he could
He still does
He still calls me his little girl.

My Daddy never hurt me
My Daddy loves me
He chased the monsters away...
He was not one of them.

Lovely Liela

So many people have not had the love of their father and some, well; the wrong kind of love...sounds to me like you’re dad has been there for you. Just one line where you forgot your apostrophe... He {didnt} show me ugly things. ……………[didn’t] Xena
