A Horse's Ass [ or "arse" for the "hyper-correct"]

A HORSE’S ASS

I am
An imperceptible
Dot
In this universal thing
A drop lost in some cosmic flow
A species male
Of the animal kind
Hardly above a horse’s ass
But
You see
I have a mind
I think
I laugh
And suffer from time to time
Anticipatory anxiety
Shit
I’m going to die
And
I know it!

Still
I share the nature
Other species do
I have been a horse’s ass
On one occasion or two
Acted like a Jackass frequently
Yet never a silly goose
That’s not me
A duck out of water I will admit
Like an elephant I never forget
Heart of a Lion
[ I only wish!]]
Tender as a lamb
Screw like a rabbit
And
Swim like a fish

Flesh and blood
Wrapped around some bones
Open to every malady
Of human history
Virus , germ, bacteria
Can kill the body
Never the human  will

How I survived this long
Lord only knows
Yet eventually
Something does go wrong
Time and gravity
Take their toll
We get sick, weak and old

Tasting now the human pill
So
Bitter and cold
Here I am still
Singing this song
Wishing I could be another year
Or more
A horse’s ass
Before I hit the

floor.

Dearest Joe

I have been the horse's ass more times than not ... wonderful poem Joe ... you always bring me to that place of truth where words can touch the minds and heart love and big hugs JayCee ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. You both have something

You both have something wonderful and powerful. Poetry, music and Love. A sense of beauty and awe. A sense of gratitude. Your gifts of courage, strength and your will to restore harmony are not to be taken lightly. Your friends here and elsewhere, lovers and family don't, how could anyone? ~ "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

...facing adversity, they say En Garde!

Ann of Norway You said that well dear sister, yes they have haven't they, Jayne and Joe, the two great J's. and we admire them so very much don't we? They have a trampoline in us though, waiting to be jumped on, waiting to give them whatever is lacking at whatever moment, and that's also because they do so well at helping themselves, that's the admirable thing, facing adversity, they say En Garde! And let what comes come with such powerful beauty of purpose. And the sense of humour here is tremendous and wonderful. Totally awesome and great Longobardolino mio, My love to your fight from Annucccia.
