Scars

I once met a man
With so many scars on his soul
He could never trust anyone
So he was alone
All of his life

I once met a woman
With so many scars on her soul
She spent the last 30 years
Hoping to die
She’s still hoping

I once met a man
With so many scars on his soul
He could never forgive anyone
So he carries hate with him
Where ever he goes

I once met a woman
With so many scars on her soul
No matter how hard she tried
All she could do is cry
She’s still crying

I know a man
With so many scars on his soul
All he can do is write

So I write

My Scars

Hello everyone I hope you like my poetry. Everything I write is tied to me somehow. Everyone I am describing in this poem reminds me of someone, especially the last one. I don’t write to try and be a writer I write when something stirs my soul and I am just sharing it. I am guessing this may be the same for a lot of you here. Anyway I hope you like it. Randy

I just said

I just said .......ahhhhhhhhhh out loud with your last line! This IS what makes a person a poet. My nomination! ~ "Just as what you dream is your own and no one else can observe it, so the world you see is your own." ~ Nisargadatta

Jeeze Hobo!

You just described me too, so many scars and spent the last 30 years hoping to die. Like Kailashana said, “last line… ahhhhh” I love the ending because that’s me too…fabulous and so heartfelt….I love it. PS A nominate from me too for your honesty. Rosina xena465

EXCELLENT portrayal of man and woman

//i know a man with so many scars on his soul all he can do is write so i write// A very well deserved spotlight… we must introduce a” lime- light” series too where the highest percentage spot light poem, appears alongside, till that percentage is exceeded by another poetry. What do others think???

The souls of men indeed

Hobo. First I must say a poem to remember forever And a day.. No not beacuse it flew of of your toung. For it to I held no stuge trying to be a poet. It held only truth and pictures of your gray to be displayed like a piece of meat. By chance you will have a clue to my mind as I my friend am to be the soldier that now is to look back and say. I wish I was a rat running from the faultering ship. Yes I for sure will pass away to the lady the sea. Yet I gave it a shot instead of digging a grave for so many that luck was the only way to find yourself a man agian. The ladies you speak of I shed tear to. The men I just place a salute and say lets go lets go lets go. I'm sure you will see each of them agian as I wonder my fate in the end. Will they be upset and yell that some demon kept thier souls in a canteen. Then I must say no it was just me that took your souls and placed them to my strap. I'm sorry as I knew nothing els to do. Yet I set you all free on a river so far from war so fine to be so verry beautifull. Perhaps a mistake and well if you think that then I will stand down placing my weapons to the ground and my soul my heart my eyes will be yours to decide what to be done with a retch such as I.

wow Hobo!

what an admission and what a write - in no particular order! I was impressed by the content - since it reflects so many of the "walking dead"; the "angry" the "unforgiving" people in our environment - and on days - our very own selves! Good one! Bonita j

nice one hobo... =)

most poets if not all, write when their heart is filled with something... i for instance am inspired to write when i feel like i'm alone or lost... i like your poem.. it reminds me of who i am when i write some lines... regards, reyh

My scars are my badge of honor. I lost, but I have loved. And I may loose again. But I will go down loving. Take Care. huey
