The womb

THE WOMB

I was the progeny

A seed

In a sea dark and warm

Floating

Folded around myself

Lulled into dream

Knowing

Another’s’ heartbeat

I could not see the face

Holding me within

That place of a kinder oblivion

I did not know the world

That was to be

The light that was to blind

And steal me into my mortality

I am a seed

Floating

In a sea dark and cold

A Soul they say

Folded around myself

Unable to see again

The face that  held me within

Soon I will be ripped away

Once more

Leaving myself behind

Blind in the light

of

Another oblivion

...made clear for us like a little work of art in itself,

Ann of Norway Born and reborn from the one state to the next state we are planted and nurtured fed and loved to go on to the next birth and we do not know why, or even how it all exists but are thankful that it does, this life. You say it all so beautifully personally, and become wrapped in your poem Longobardolino, presenting the story with such a lovely directness that its vision is made clear for us like a little work of art in itself, born of your pen.
