ON MEN'S AGING

De senectute hominum

[On Mens' Old Age ]

Heed, all men

I hear your sighs

And

Pitiful cries

At the strike

Cruel and unkind

Of

Old age and senility

When

of

 So many Indignities

Among them

You suddenly find

That your toilet bowl

Is too low

Something you never did know

You sit with a crash

Knees into your teeth

A hematoma

On one cheek of your ass

A twist in the other

Your duty done

You reach for the toilet paper

And

Find there is none

You try to get up

But

End up

On the bathroom floor

Face in a yellow puddle

In a midnight haze befuddled

You left just minutes before

We must never

Forget to remember

Not to stand

Our aim is off

And should we try

We need to hold

Our "member" in one hand

Hoping we still can

The irony of Creation

Man has a bladder

And

A prostate gland

Should you dare the Fates

To take a shower

In a porcelain tub

The climb may look like

The Great Wall of China

Better to take a rub

Over the kitchen sink

At least you won’t stink

And

Be sure to shampoo

That bald spot too

You want to grow hair there

Not a fungus

When hair

Suddenly grows

Voluminously

In your ears and nose

Not good to trim with clippers

You use for your nails and toes

Try it

You’ll understand

Truly you will

With all the blood thinners

The odds are

Gasping for breath

You can bleed to death

Ignore the daily confusions

It’s just the brain slowing down

It will be time for panic

When the slow down picks up speed

And becomes tragic

Then again

You will be in full dementia

And won’t give a shit

At all about it

EPILOGUE

Wondrous Creature

Man

Made in God’s own image

And if that is so

I want to know

If He too pees or poos

Should this be true

There are plenty of Angel’s feathers

To clean

His

Holiness

And

His aim must be perfect

I bet He never misses

wonderful look

with my aging back my teeth slowly going or gone (two front ones already) not enough vanity to buy a wire and plastic job so my smile looks good my shoulder now messed up that even a short walk downtown makes the muscle spasm the jagged pain but Pain is a freind now Who would have thought You are a most keen writer and I in the past had assisted those in elder ages so if I make it I know what to expect thanks for the road trip my good freind Esker~''
