Suspension of disbelief
SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF
They have lain
These many years
Deep
In earth’s silence
No pain
No remembrance
All suffering gone
They rest
In t he bliss
Of
Nothingness
So some say
There are souls
That
Wander aimlessly
Lost in death
Evil’s punishment
Sins not forgiven
Driven into eternity
By the winds
of
Hell
So some tell
We are flesh and spirit
Duality
Promise of immortality
God’s gift to Man
We believe
But
Who has seen a soul
Leave
Wrapped in dark mystery
Makers of myth and story
In faith
We seek relief
From all anxiety
Walking through time
Blind and innocent
In suspension of disbelief
As we must
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
