Under Sleep's Wings

UNDER SLEEP'S WINGS

Struck by sudden fatigue and sadness
Hardly able to lift my head
No appetite
No will to fight any longer
No fire left to see me through
I lie quietly in  my bed
And
Look to sleep under Sleep's wings
Reach for sunlight out my window
Wrap myself in the chill of diamonded night
Wallow in the simple  things and pleasures
That delight

I bend to whatever comes to me
Make it part of my day's reality
Find a way to survive
The emptiness of Space and Time
And
When I am stronger
I call to Spirit  lost within
To soothe my soul
Quiet my mind
Blind my fears with simple things and pleasures
And
Look to sleep under Sleep's wings....

This is the pure spirit-mind of a poet,

Ann of Norway This is the pure spirit-mind of a poet, no other has this capacity to think, to breath the auras of pleasure into their present better than a poet and this you demonstrate here with the gentle self-understanding of a great sage, so beautifully expressed; and wonderful to be able to do for yourself. May you retain this ability as long as you live Longobardolino. Annuccia.
