ANGEL IN FLIP FLOPS--updated

THE ANGEL IN FLIP-FLOPS
I dreamt I was heaven bent
T-shirt, Bermuda shorts
Flip-flops on my feet
When
An Angel dressed to the nines
Said unto me; You can’t come in dressed like that
You’ve got to go back
Lose  the tropical  ease
Black  tie only if you please !

My resurrection was a  givenAll sins forgiven
A second chance to live again
And
In my flip-flops dance
The world once more But
When  I headed for heaven’s door
The Wingèd Fury on my ass
Closely
Followed me to bear witness
To my T-shorts, Bermuda shorts
Hanging loose and free
My flip-flops neatly on a shoe t ree Then God’s Favored grimaced:
Listen ,wild thing,
You may make the other Angels sing
But not me
See?
You’ve got  twenty years to set it right
When I r trun then at Midnght

By the by
Entoned  He
You need  those flppies
In snowy white ?
They would look really  neat
On my angel feet
Match my wings and everything
What sartorial splendor
I will render
Pure poetry in flight
Heaven’s envy and delight
Rightly called
The Bearer of Light….
