YOUR SILENT WAYS--updated
YOUR SILENT WAYS Your silence spoke to me
In your quiet ways
Fear and confusion
Tranquility and resignation
Knowing and not understanding
The insanity within
Eyes asking to go home
Again
Death's irony It was a rainy winter day
Your mind suddenly clear
Your eyes opened to say
Pray
For me. Each bead I touched
Was worn by your own litanies
As I intoned aloud
Your holy rosary
It was the last time
Mom
I saw you smile I have your silent ways
My own numbered days
I fear the insanity
That some day may be mine
I hear your silence still
In a similar agony
Genetically defined
I am your son
And
Out of the three
I am the chosen one,
Non vedi che muoio d una simile agonia....?
In your quiet ways
Fear and confusion
Tranquility and resignation
Knowing and not understanding
The insanity within
Eyes asking to go home
Again
Death's irony It was a rainy winter day
Your mind suddenly clear
Your eyes opened to say
Pray
For me. Each bead I touched
Was worn by your own litanies
As I intoned aloud
Your holy rosary
It was the last time
Mom
I saw you smile I have your silent ways
My own numbered days
I fear the insanity
That some day may be mine
I hear your silence still
In a similar agony
Genetically defined
I am your son
And
Out of the three
I am the chosen one,
Non vedi che muoio d una simile agonia....?
