Tidepools

Tidepools

My heart consists
of flawed pearls
and crushed seashells

I was conceived
in a whirlwind wounding
of my beloved ocean

Conch to my ear
I beckon to mermaids song
and sirens serenade

I tingle
to the thrill
of her thunderous waves

I smolder with a blaze
no mere lake can touch
I need the vast drowning of seas

I dread never
to behold
her sparkling jewels again

phantom of my birth
looms over me
in earthly plight

Forever landlocked and dreaming
fitfully the sweat of my brow
is shared by our salt...

Cat!

This is one of your best. I love it! It made me think of the little mermaid... I watched the black and white movie when I was a kid, and have never forgotten the images. I will not forget this poem either. Yours, ~Nina

The lady the sea.

Dear lady, The sea and I have benn friends for years now be it if she is angry or happy no difference to a place. She is a fine piece of life that has a clue to a man like myself. Understand or not your choice to make. She has sen't a rouge wave to me and a flower no other took the time to see. I laugh as that day I said to myself you Steven A. Kacer should not go as the men on the boat had little respect for her. I placed boot to that boat my choice to make. With sadness in my heart I as the red sea did do it's part to place the anger of the lady I love. I can say only this that I enjoyed your placement of words. And if you are three hundred miles out and a flower is to be in a patty that should not have benn to the blue of the wave. Look to where you stand and find a safe place. I will forever remember the flower men't I think for me. Steven A. Kacer
