CROWN OF THORNS: explanation of ON BUTTERFLY WINGS

Crown of Thorns

I had many stories to tell
Thoughts rushing through my mind
Images and visions
All put into rhyme
Sharing myself with others
Of a kind
Waiting for Godot
To answer my call
Hungry to know
The wherefore and why
But then
I began to fall
Into silent disillusion

 A crown of thorns
This “poetry” of mine
Relentless self crucifixion
Bleeding
What you call
The Soul
Staring into nothingness
And
Seeing nothing

 I leave behind
For you to hear
From time to time
Echoes of a voice
Once clear and strong
Fading into the silence
Of memory
Where it now belongs

Addio a tutti...

   Ecclesiastes 3 (King James Version)

Ecclesiastes 3

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Longo, please don’t do

Longo, please don't do anything foolish. There's too much love here for you. ~Anna "A poem is never finished, only abandoned." ~ Paul Valery

some cups are still full

Dear L. A beautiful work. Sad to think that such a strong beautiful voice could or would contemplate silence. Some of the cups are spilled on the ground their contents are all scattered around but some of the cups still overflow take not your leave before it's time to go P.

Longobardolino mio

Ann of Norway I have said enough, I have seen, understood and felt your cries, have made some of them my own, we shall be saddened by your loss; but will take with us your words of wisdom. And thank you for having been such an inspiration to our thoughts, so vital and so deep that the memory of those words will be as forever engraved on our hearts. Tua Annuccia.

Dear Joe

What do I make of this. I felt a pang with your words and now you leave me worried with the comments above. I will not say goodbye, you have still so much to share with us all. I did not return to find my friends vacating the premises, I returned because I miss you all and I want to read your words, share and experience a part of all your lives as I wish you all a part of mine. You bring a smorgasbord to the table, and I am hungry. Please do not go. Love Lyz. XX

This is very touching. I love the seven statements you added. They give me many insights of hard thought and hope. Rosina xena465
