The Disguise

The Disguise

This slow, tragic winterwill painfully passYour heartache and griefso difficult to grasp You feel like your soul’sstripped of everythingAnd you’re waiting for a Robinto bring you some SpringOne day very soonaround the break of dawnYou’ll see a Robin hoppingall around your front lawnAs she spreads out her wingsand breaks into songTake great comfort in knowingshe’s been here all alongJust have faith and believeand you‘ll soon recognizeRobin visits you oftenbut she’s in a disguise

A Spring Tonic in Poem!

Beautiful and wistful tribute to the ever-returning Spring! If more of us held these thoughts throughout the long Winters, we would not be near as grumpy! Very nicely done!

Sweet Robin

Nice of you to do a tribute.... And the Robin so symbolic of the things that never leave us just rest for a while.... I enjoyed this poem, so much the more since I saw the robin yesterday.... Walking outside was like walking into heaven.

Sad and moving

I bet her mother took your hope and faith in your sadness to heart, how could she not? More than a tribute but so well done. I enjoyed the smooth flow and gentle rhyme and such a wonderful metaphor.. Thanks, Mark people who hate attract people who hate and in the end they all end up hating each other

I could have sworn I commented.

Senility strikes again. *sigh* This is very touching Tom. I love the way you did this. Respectfully, Rett: “Anyone who sacrifices liberty for security deserves neither.” Benjamin Franklin
