MEDEA

MEDEA MedeaClings to daylight shadowsAgainst the city wallsHaunted  by demonsOfHer own makingShe fleesWaiting for Night to fall No sacred pleasNo witcheryNo magic litany Potion or incantationWill soothe the darknessThat seizes her soul Raven’s hairEyes that stareSapphires black and coldReflectionsSensual and seductiveOfMedeaWandering and lostInBrooding passionsDeepA shadow  on city wallsSeekingDeath’s sleep

WOW! This is just wonderful Longobardolino mio,

Ann of Norway WOW! This is just wonderful Longobardolino mio, it has the fierce potency of poisonous intents and the pathos of Greek tragedy's inevitable dramas. I see and hear her speak and like your poem here, she spits out love and abuse in equal quantities, torn this way and that in the manner expected, after those tales so fantastic and so evocative. She is not one I would wish to truckle with! You send out the colours in your eyes and grist the rocks of gems to poetise. "Medea Clings to daylight shadows Against the city walls" This is so beautifully fitting for her description, beautiful. Your Annuccia with love.

Medea is tragic indeed. I

Medea is tragic indeed. I have no empathy for her especially the poet, Euripitdes' version. However, you have given her a humanity in which I can suspend my disdain. It's a gift that you can do that, Joe. ~A "If parents really would love their children there would no longer be any war." J. Krishnamurti

...are you smiling cause I misspelled Euripides and can't correct it? ;-) ~A "If parents really would love their children there would no longer be any war." J. Krishnamurti
