MEDUSA: DEADLY FASCINATION

MEDUSA :  DEAD;Y FASCINATION Driven by deadly curiosity
Thirst to know more of life's
Mysteries
They came
To witiniess one of Hell's
Abominatiions
But
Deeper into darkness they fell
Never to see the light
Again A crown of serpents
Hissing warnings
Angered by i the intrusioin
of the human kind
Medusa
Slowly moved
Out of the mist
With serpentine thrusts
To and fro
Dancing sensuality
And  mad seduction
Ready for anther kill
Of
Those who dared to want
To know Mesmerized
By
The horror of her
Beauty
Paralyzed
By a strange fascination
They stood
Unable now to escape
Medusa’s charms
Promises of ecstasy
Dying in her arms They came to see and to know
What should not be seen
What should not be known
Now life’s pleasures gone
Their soul trapped
In walls of stone

Fascinating spin on Greek

Fascinating spin on Greek mythology. Temptation, forbidden knowledge can chain a soul. Very good, great ending. raskin

A poem is always good when I

A poem is always good when I come back and I've been thinking about it. After reading this I started thinking of Medusa's hair, the serpents. I started thinking of of venom, poison and the fascination people can have with snakes. This led me to think about how words, expression, mannerisms, tone can be venomous. Initially how fascinating an individual can be but as time goes on the poison sinks in and can paralyze to inaction. Having had their self esteem, individuality sucked out. Great poem, if I didn't give it five stars I should have. raskin

Like the falling of a boulder down the scree

Ann of Norway "They came to see and to know What should not be seen What should not be known Now life’s pleasures gone Their soul trapped In a coffin stone" Like the falling of a boulder down the scree in their last dance of ecstasy they fell, this bit sounding their disbelief at their fate as they turned and turned into stone, precaution throw away, too late. In a modern film I forget the name, Medusa is so well depicted with live snakes on her head; a film I didn't know about, and wouldn't have gone to see and yet it was so well made if a little pretty sometimes, it was well worth having winessed. If we mirror our fates beforehand perhaps in some cases we can avoid falling into their powers! Annuccia.

Fantastic write Longo.I find

Fantastic write Longo. I find it hard to believe the version you meant to post could've been any better. It gave me chills, and I could almost feel the inability to move, the horror of seeing poor Medusa, (I say poor because I have always felt sorry for Medusa - it was never her fault,) and the regret for wishing to discover forbidden knowledge.
