Mantles of Wonder

I laid down my pen
and got on my knees
not to pray for any great miracle
but in remembrance
of the mantle of wonder ...
and the O so beautiful world
that had finally draped around my shoulders,
like the seamless gown of Christ
its shelter and natures redemption,
embraces all

It goes on as the trees forever reach
and flowers gape their spring smiles
again and again, her seasons like
whims,
with the scamper of possums
inscribing the testaments of earth
their pawed initials, sincerely ours
leaving a sea of scrolls landmark-ed
eternally

as the whiteness of waves filigree our shores
and the rugged mountain ranges their peaks
shine like crowns

oh this beautiful world ...
shes the daughter mother,sister
within those arms she has born us all

Do you mean ‘within whose

Do you mean 'within whose arms has born us all'? You possibly mean 'bared'. but it changes the whole meaning of the poem for me. Beautiful writing Jayne-Chloe. Love it. Judy

Born or bared - doesn’t

Born or bared - doesn't matter Jayne-Chloe, it's beautiful both ways. i just meant that the context changes with each word. Love.

Oh "Mother of God" you excel, you are just wonderful Jayne.

Ann of Norway Jayne Chloe scribe of the holiness of this earth, so in touch with that ether that is the essence of our world. Mother, sister, friend and I am proud to call you the latter, but you embrace them all with love that is manifold and magnificent in what you here describe, wondrous world, wondrous imagination and wondrous poem, persuading us to glide to our knees to see the details of existence revealed as diamond replicas of man's wisdom. How do you do it when plagued by illness and surrounded with life so lively, I admire the extreme calm of mind you manage to conjure up within their shouts, and compose these poems so full, so multifarious, so magically mysterious but at the same moment real and in the now of our understanding. I do so admire your work and how you have managed to improve all the time, there are no no limits to your creativity, I love it all and say so here. I am clapping all the trees are clapping their leaves, even nature hears your poems dearest Jayne, just listen! So much love to you from Ann.

Dear Rosina

When I wrote bared ... it was with the thought that when we are born its naked and when we die we are stripped again of our earthy robes I guess you could say ... I have changed that line so as not to misconstrue that last line I liked the bared but dont want people taking it to a wrong meaning thanks for the read and the comment its much appreciated love and big hugs Jayne-Chloe

And that is how I read it

The earthly robe, wrapped at birth, wraps us in death. We come to this world with nothing, we leave with nothing, but memories and love for all who shared it with us. A tear does fall. Mona "Determination Brings Success"

Mother Earth.....she would be proud...

Love poems about Earth and the celestial... It says so much without the need to spell it out... The simple references, an old world feel Almost a little Shakespearian... Really nice Jayne I loved it Best regards Stu :-)
