A VERMONT MORNING --revised

A Vermont morning

[In memory of  my dear friends Dorothy and Leo ]

I put on my running shoes

And flew

On  wings

I did not feel the wet leaves

Under a cold mist

Hugging  the narrow hill

The sun had not yet broken through

And

I flew

Across fields of morning dew

Passing lights warming window panes

One by one.

I was not alone

Apples baking in cinnamon

Butter on a grill

The smells of home

I knew

I could live forever

In this womb

Until…

Beautiful

Longo you are one heck of a writer here. I also miss Vermont those trees shaded with snow and my Great Aunts cooking and love. So nice to share this one and it is lovely. That is all the feedback I can leave for now. Hope your feeling a little better and Longo have you a book out there somewhere where I cn buy it? Love and Hugs Ms Mona

5 stars from an old Vermonter!

Brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my heart! I grew up in a small town in Vermont, and still carry many memories of living there! Great poem!

The lovely perfume of wet

The lovely perfume of wet leaves in the dawn, mixed with the food on the grill, the yellow butter melting, we are carried like insects on your wings, elated, watching the comfortable warm happiness of human beings, and in awe of their strange world. A lovely lovely memory and it still warms your heart, as it does ours. 'scuse the little quibbles my Longobardolino! "On  wings".............you use wings a great deal could it be -like mercury? "...warming a window pane....the window panes? One by one." Love Annuccia

"Passing lights warming window panes one by one."

"Passing ights warming window panes(......needs a L ights) One by one." ........................I SIMPLY LOVE this bit now, its a stunning sight/feeling and in the centre of the poem it gives the warmth you felt for your friends and the joyful play of light that makes us as onlookers able to partake of at the same time. AND WE ARE FLYING with you too, as you say its flow is good now and I am loving the sights and sounds, the perfume of the hot grill permeating all in the end and the womb of home made food-friendship-love- happiness carefully enclosing the whole. Just so lovely, you are a loving man for sure, and as Anna said we love you so my Longobardolino. With pride, your Annuccia.
