Le Rossignol ::English and French versions
Le Rossignol
[Inspired from a medieavel lai
by Marie de France]
Yes
I know the song of the
Nightingale
I’ve heard him sing
When darkness calls
Many times before.
I know the longings
Of Le Rossignol
The melodies he plays.
Melancholy of lost yesterdays
Regrets of today
I hear the words
Of
The Nightingale
Whisper sadness to my heart
When dawn comes
I will be gone
And sing no more.
I fear the song of Le Rossignol
We sing
The same melody...
LE ROSSIGNOL
My French version
J’entends chanter
Le Rossignol
Sa triste mélodie
Au crepuscule il me vient
Pleurer sa mélaconlie
Il parle
Le Rossignol
Des temps perdus du passé
Des regrets d’aujourd’hui
Il touche mon Coeur
Ce Rossignol
Avec un mot qui dit:
Or
Je chante mon destin
Au coucher du soleiil
Mais quand la nuit se donne au jour
Je ne chanterai plus
Ici
Je m’en vais pleurer
Ma tristesse
Dans l’éternité
