All I have

I long for more time
to lay cornerstones,
but life had started
detaching my soles

I want more daylight
to see a Galaxy of beauty
that rested,
within one finger of breath,

I desire of many things

to walk the Ponte Vecchio
and glimmer in its wares,
casting a reflection in the Arno
that wavered to the Vasari

to shelter
beneath a Sistine vision
as Michelangelo, Raphael
Botticelli and Bernini
dart in and out of my haunt,
smudging all in view

to drink the atmosphere
of Stonehenge,
drowning in its history
and laying as sacrifice
in a swoon of blood

'I want'
screams the child in me

~~~~~~~
I've become a fresco
fingerprinted,
with need and desire
astral traveling
from the nib of my pen,
I sate my thirst
but,
as time lessens,
and daylight fades
in the history
that is me
'I have'
what whispers in thralls
a will that ever dreams
A vision of words, sad, and a sorrowful read. My dear Enchantress, Empress of the pen, I see your muse is working overtime. You must know that this brings tears to me, and I am not sure how to comment properly. So my words will be, love ya, love how you have written this and i hope your astral traveling stays within the nib. Love you dear one. Lyz. XX I will chat soon.
My dear Jayne-Chloe. I just
My dear Jayne-Chloe. I just started to write a poem, and it disappeared. Sometimes it happens like that... and I surrender to the universe. So now I'll just share a song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7TkyxVIfuk&feature=related Lorenna McKinnett ~ Stolen Child Yeats Poem: The Stolen Child Where the wave of moonlight glosses The dim gray sands with light, Far off by furthest Rosses We foot it all the night, Weaving olden dances Mingling hands and mingling glances Till the moon has taken flight; To and fro we leap And chase the frothy bubbles, While the world is full of troubles And anxious in its sleep. Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand. Where the wandering water gushes From the hills above Glen-Car, In pools among the rushes That scarce could bathe a star, We seek for slumbering trout And whispering in their ears Give them unquiet dreams; Leaning softly out From ferns that drop their tears Over the young streams. Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand. Away with us he's going, The solemn-eyed: He'll hear no more the lowing Of the calves on the warm hillside Or the kettle on the hob Sing peace into his breast, Or see the brown mice bob Round and round the oatmeal chest. For he comes, the human child, To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than he can understand. My love, Mum
For all the children of the
For all the children of the world.... (SOMEHOW THE FIRST STANZA WAS NOT COPIED ABOVE) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7TkyxVIfuk&feature=related song sung by Loreena McKinnett the Poem by William Butler Yeats WHERE dips the rocky highland Of Sleuth Wood in the lake, There lies a leafy island Where flapping herons wake The drowsy water rats; There we've hid our faery vats, Full of berrys And of reddest stolen cherries. Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand. Where the wave of moonlight glosses The dim gray sands with light, Far off by furthest Rosses We foot it all the night, Weaving olden dances Mingling hands and mingling glances Till the moon has taken flight; To and fro we leap And chase the frothy bubbles, While the world is full of troubles And anxious in its sleep. Um oh...
Jayne can we swap places for a moment... it is just that I am Inkerland dweller so have been to stongehenge, in fact it is only a 2 hour drive from where I am, and I am a huge fan of Italy I have walked across the Old Bridge in Florence, visited the isle of Capri, taken boat rides in both Napoli and Portofino, visited the Vatican and the Spanish Steps in rome, tried to straighten the leaning Tower of Pisa, grafittied the Sistine Chapel and sang "Only One Cornetto" on a gondola in Venice... So Can I do the Sydney Opera House, Coogee place, Collaroy and Bondi Beach, Darling Harbour, The Big Merino, Guy Fawlkes Park, University of New England & Kings Cross for the sheer hell of it please? lol! This is a harrowing tale Jayne, and I think that your soul will journey these places with ease haunting the archtecture with your authentic spirit... the energised ink of your imagination can take you anywhere you want to go... be it on a rollercoaster at a funfair, or to fired from a cannon whizzing through the auir, or on top of a mountain to reach for the stars or in a space rocket to Mars, to swim of deep below the oceans waves, to explore the deepest subterranean caves! You can not only yourself away with these writes of yours... you take your readers with you... on a special journey limited only by that of your imagination! May you find solice and happiness in those places though... and you'll find the memory of them lingers for you cherish further through out time... much like your work that will be cherish through out the ages. Quite incredibly profound Jayne! Dale :)
Dear Dale
We can swap anytime ... btw I an neon green with jealousy at the moment just had to rub it in eh ???, there are things here that i would show you before you saw everything you mentioned ... I live in the middle of all you talked about, I am three hours from Sydney and about the same from Armidale ... Dale the real beauty of Australia is not found in the city its out here in the country where I live ... Bondi beach is a lovely beach but there are beaches near me that are miles long and you can barely see the end of them and the sand is pure white(bondi beach is a little yucky looking imo)... I used to be a surf lifesaver years ago and still surf (though not at the moment not allowed in the sun lol) theres a place near me called Swan Crossing and its overrun with Iguana's the biggest one I saw was about three metres long ... and if they see you and eyeball you? ,dont run they will chase you and bring you down some of them are bloody huge ... I have seen an albino dingo ,truely the city is wonderful but the true beauty lies in the countryside around it ... ok I have blathered on dont normally do that ... sound like tour guide lol I own my own Snake as well I love the bush critters lol I've have sung at the opera house numerous times , my turn for a rub hahaha;)and Ive been to all the places you spoke of ... the univeristy of New England is my nieces home for the next few years shes doing her degree and wants to become a docter and Kings Cross is well .... hahaha not going there ... All my life I've dreamed of Italy even as a young child I was facinated by the language ... Un bel de ve dre mo(first line of madame butterfly) ... and I so want to go to stonehenge I am so in love with history , England always has a place in my heart I could live there and never come home ... I am french Mongolian by birth and was born in NZ ... so I am a child of the world ;) love and millions of hugs for your wonderful comment (sorry I blathered on) Jayne-Chloe x x x
Whoops sorry to chuck a bucket of lime green over you...
Heya Jayne! Lol sorry to rub that in, but I am jealous of you too ya know all those things have turn me in to the incredible hulk, only I have sparrow's legs and knees lol! Swan Crossing sounds great and I'd love to go surfing in your clean waters... if you went surfing here you'll come out of the water glowing green and would have sprouted a third eye, and you sang in the opera housE!? Wowwee... do we get to hear you operatics on here somewhere???! You have a pet snake? What sort? The constrictive type or fang type... or maybe you're Steve Urwin's teacher (bless him!) and it is a venomous one! Your frence, mongolian and new zealandic? Hmm that makes you a New Mongzeal Frog lol! Well Italy has a special place for me ... it really is so beautiful and the people are divine and it is the language of love, and one of my old girlfriends was Italian too! I wrote something for her in italian (i'll put it up in both Italian and English) which you might like... I do so hope you get a chance to fulfil your dream and wander the Italian providence! Go Jayne go... explore the Mongzealean Frog world! Don't worry about bathering around me my dear as you can see... I do that too! :) Dale :)
Dear Dale
Your such a gem you know that LOL ... I just roared laughing and everyone wanted to know what the hell i was laughing at ... I have seen the state of the water over where you are was a long time ago but I am sure its not gotten much better from your comment... pmsl green is one of my favourite colours hahaha I might look good green and two different coloured eyes ... wonder if my third eye would be another colour hahahah omg tff I have a Diamond Python got it for my birthday about five years ago and he was only a baby about 30cms long hes nearly two metres long now and they can grow to be huge ... it all depends on the feeding ... and what you feed them steve Irwin was a legend his legacy will live on forever here they have a Zoo and have named a nature santuary after him ... preserving our forests for our kids .. he was slightly nuts but what he did for the environment will be felt for generations ... it was he that raised awareness here in australia in a way that MADE people take notice 'sigh' Italy I dream of it ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to go to italy ... btw I am off to read your poem you spoke of up there .. I have some master discs of me singing I have been trying to find them for a while and only found out my dad had them about a week ago lol I guess i could put one as as a spoken word poem hahaha probably get in trouble for that though hahha ok I ahve to go I have people coming for a party and I have a million things to do an I am already behind the eight ball... blather anytime you like hun ;) love and biggest hugs Jayne x x x
Less is more
I am loving the first stanza, its tension and imagery. For me, it reads well, a contrast between the permanence of cornerstones versus simple shoes. And detaching soles, so clever, and a lovely use of slant rhyme when paired with stones. I am also loving the visitor glimmering among objects. Nice inversion of truths there. And who wouldn't want to use the word "fresco" in a poem? I think the poem would be stronger if it were shorter and the author picked her favorites in some places.
Oh yeah
I also meant to add that I would write the poem in the present tense to enhance the sense of urgency and immediacy that is at the heart of the subject matter.
I am really pushed for time today but I just wanted you to know this is in present tense ... this ones been in the writing for a little while and its already been excepted to be published so I am a little hesitant in changing much there are a few places I plan to tweak and will take all you suggestions into consideration ... thanks so much for your time on this one ... unfortunately for a change I dont have the time (something I usually have buckets of) kind regards and appreciation Jayne-Chloe
Taking me...
You have taken me to so many places with your wants! I have been to the stars and moon with you, and seen your country through your eyes. I have been blessed with your presence during my time here at Neo. If ever there has been someone to feel kinship with, it has been you. I love all my Neo-family, but it seems as though I have had something special touch me from across the time and space of the cyber-space of the web. Keep on dreaming and telling, I thank you.
