BLOODLINE: WHAT'S IN A NAME?

What a  ride this has been
A life of virtue and sin
And at times
Too much sin in virtue

What a history was mine
 No mystery to this
A clear absolute
I’ve known the bliss of Heaven
And some of the oaains of  hell
What stories I could  tell.

Grandpa was gone
 Two years or more
 Before
 I came screaming
Through the Family door.
 You always used to say
Till the day
You passed away
 I was him
 He was me.
That extrardinaryand wondrous
Sensitivity.
A gift
Harsh  and unkind

I held the seed of  special knowing
A seeing
 From  the  soul
An unwanted deep perception
The price I paid
 For this terrifying “connection.”

Now
I am  his name in my poetry
After all
He is me and I am  him
Both of us afflicted
By a st range empathy
For the innocent
Who sufer

You called me his name
Many times before
You slipped to the other side
 I spoke his tongue well
After all
You see
I was him
He was me
I always  knew what to say…

Dear Longo

You do not have to reread or delete, it is your choice though, but I feel when one shares a pain it can be halved. But you have a big heart and so much to share and I appreciate the effort you have put in to write something so painful to yourself. No need to reply, just move on to the next poem. Take care. Love Lyz. XX
