THE SILENCE OF MADNESS -redone

THE SILENCE OF MADNESS: IN MEMORIAM
[Dementia]
Twisted and tornAnguish Of a stolen mindFearSwept youIntoThe depthsOf hell.A  soul lostWandering  in silent screams. Tortured byThe dark sideOf the imaginationFantasiesVisionsToo horrible to tell.Your eyes begged for an end  Longing to go home*AgainA soul lostWandering in confusion. Swirling  ever downwardsInto unspeakableMadness. No releaseNo control. Cruel moments of recognition.Lost and lonely soulYou knew.  * A desire to go "home" is a common statement by dementia and Alzheimer's patients. As iIwas to understand, this was their silent recognition that they were not the "same."  "Home" represented that former state of well being.
